Australian Healthcare Technology Limited and Siemens Ltd have today announced the signing of an agreement aimed at strengthening the position of both companies in the radiology imaging market in Australia and New Zealand.
The deal involves the companies jointly developing an interface which will allow the Siemens Global RIS software platform to work seamlessly with the AHTL customer billing and financial reporting module.
Siemens will become a VAR for the AHTL module and AHTL will derive revenue from licenses, product/user support and implementation consulting services.
The venture will open up the lucrative public sector market for AHTL and will give Siemens a comprehensive customer offering for the public and private sector, in particular hospitals where it already has a strong hardware presence.
An important part of the design of the AHTL billing module is its flexibility. It can be quickly and inexpensively adapted to different markets around the world irrespective of the nature of the healthcare funding model.
Both AHTL and Siemens are already jointly pursuing a number of public and private sector contracts with the new platform. AHTL is confident that the agreement will assist the company to push further into the radiology imaging market place.
