Why gain industry experience?
As a current university student, you have a unique opportunity to put theoretical knowledge learnt in the classroom into practical application within the workplace. Industry experience provides students with an enormous head start to commence their careers. Industry experience provides an opportunity to further develop your teamwork skills and form a network of contacts, thus enhancing your employment prospects.
We consider student placement programs an important recruitment strategy as they act as a talent pipeline for the future. Our managers can identify high-potential prospective employees who are familiar with our organisation, our work style and our corporate culture.
If you want real responsibility from day one and you want to get paid to work with leading experts in their fields, then we encourage you to review our various undergraduate intake options.
What do we offer?
The majority of our undergraduate placement opportunities arise on an ad-hoc basis depending upon business needs and project activity. Program lengths vary from 3 months to 12 months and are based across all areas of Siemens.
Our student placement programs are:
- Industry Based Learning: a 12-month paid placement that allows students to develop their skills and make a genuine contribution to Siemens
- Internship Program: lasting from 3 to 12 months, our internships are not only paid, they also offer an opportunity to work on real projects that are matched to your interests and abilities
- Vacation Program: we offer student work placement during the university summer vacation (December to February) period so that you may gain an understanding of our business and the career opportunities we offer in addition to gaining valuable work experience.
