Australia and New Zealand have varying fuel sources for generating power. Australia has a high abundance in coal while New Zealand has plentiful wind and water resources. Using our technologies for power plant modernisation and renewable energy, we have an energy solution that will harness this region’s natural resources and maximise efficiency. We are also leading the way to cleaner and more efficient power generation with our clean coal technologies such as integrated gasification combined cycle and low nitrous oxide burner technologies.

Unlike other regions, Australia and New Zealand have unique energy infrastructures that pose supply challenges due to its grid density, lack of alternatives and differing standards across the network.  These issues have driven us to develop a range of technologies that can meet local transmission and distribution needs, with unparalleled efficiencies in power quality, management and generation.

In our aim to promote better energy management, we are also committed to supporting businesses and communities to achieve better energy efficiency. We have invested heavily in maintenance workshops and service teams across Australia and New Zealand, to provide local support for our customers. Examples include our Siemens Energy Services in New Zealand to provide maintenance for local energy distribution, as well as our Siemens Turbomachinery Services in South Australia, a local workshop facility for servicing the industrial community.
