The worldwide education program Siemens Generation21 is committed to the education of young people around the world. It provides children, teens and university students with the support they need for a successful future. Besides sponsorships and the provision of teaching materials, we support various training academies and the awarding of scholarships to gifted children.
In Australia and New Zealand, the Generation21 education program contains many educational activities such as university prizes, student exchange programs as well as the high profile The Siemens Science Experience and the Siemens RMIT Fine Arts Partnership.
The Siemens Science Experience
The Siemens Science Experience has been part of our corporate citizenship for 18 years . The Siemens Science Experience is a fun three-day hands-on workshop and lecture program conducted at 33 universities across Australia. It is for young students entering Year 10 to discover the many diverse fields a career in science and technology can offer, and to encourage the enrolment in science and engineering courses in late school years and early tertiary years.
Throughout the three-day program, students discover the multifaceted fields of science by participating in hands-on workshops and taking part in short lectures about interesting science topics and further career options, while also experiencing what it is like to be on a university campus and to work in science laboratories.
Siemens RMIT Fine Arts Partnership
Siemens is focused on building a community of innovation and creativity – whether in business, industry, science or the arts. Siemens is a company whose business is reliant on innovation. Developing ideas and altering the way we look at things is paramount in finding solutions to today’s challenges.
Siemens in Australia has partnered RMIT University in Melbourne to create the Siemens RMIT Fine Arts Partnership, one of the most progressive scholarships of its kind in Australia. The Partnership enables undergraduate and postgraduate RMIT students to further their careers by assisting with production costs and overseas study costs.
The Partnership also awards an acquisition prize of $1,000 cash to a scholarship winner. Selected by Siemens employees, the artwork then becomes a part of the Siemens art collection.
